On Sunday the Brewers played the surging Grey's at Sierra H.S. The Brewers put on a solid effort despite not having 7 key players, having to bat 2 players who were supposed to site out due to injury and having to hit 3 pitchers who don't normally hit. There wasn't that much action offensively for the Brewers after the 1st inning where they plated their only 2 runs of the game. The real standouts were the pitching with Johnson, Rucker and Phillips only giving up 1 earned run on the day, scattering 8 hits, striking out 9 and only walking 3. Also on the day, the Brewers may have lost Johnson for the remainder of the season after he was hit by a comeback line driver that squarely hit his knee that resulted in a 911 call. So far there is not new news on his condition other than he is scheduled to see an Orthopedic doctor either Monday or Tuesday.
UPDATE: Johnson has been updated with nothing torn in his knee, just a deep bone contusion. He should be cleared to resume playing soon.
