The playoffs for the Southern Colorado NABA 18+AA Championship started with the semi-final game between the Brewers (#3 Seed) and the Athletics (#2 Seed).  This was a rematch of the 2010 Championship where the Brewers came away with title winning the best of 3 series 2-1.  However since last season the Athletics have walked away with 2 consecutive victories in the regular season.  …

Brewers Drop Game to Grey's 4-2 With Depleted Roster

On Sunday the Brewers played the surging Grey's at Sierra H.S.  The Brewers put on a solid effort despite not having 7 key players, having to bat 2 players who were supposed to site out due to injury and having to hit 3 pitchers who don't normally hit.  There wasn't that much action offensively for the Brewers after the 1st inning where they plated their only 2 runs of the game.  …

Brewers Drop Weather Shortened Game to Athletics 4-3

After winning their game earlier in the day, the Brewers drop a weather shortened game to the Athletics… Once again in large part to a blown call by the umpire that led to 3 un-earned runs for the opposing team.  Standouts on the day were Meals who was 2 for 3 with a HR and 2 RBI's, Behan was 2 for 4 and on the mound Johnson went 7 innings giving up 5 hits, striking out 5 and only 1 earned run.

With the best weather of the season so far the Brewers took on the Rockhounds at Coronado High School.  The Rockhounds drew first blood by scoring off of Brewers starting pitcher Wirt in the top of the first.  After getting the first two batters he faced, Wirt gave up back to back doubled to Reardon and Jones making the score 1-0.  …
