The Brewers looked to move to 6-0 on the season taking on the Athletics in game 2 of the Brewers first double header of the season. The Brewers started with Vandas on the mound looking for his first win of the season. Vandas had a rocky start, hitting the first batter of the game and waling the second... but pitched his way out of it not giving up any runs and only facing 4 batters. The Brewers manufactured the first run of the game in the 2nd, after Bartlett walked and stole second, was moved over by J. Vaughn and knocked in by E. Gossage. Vandas kept the momentum having quick innings in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th... giving the Brewers time to get the bats going in the 5th with a walk by E. Gossage and a single by Peters (his 4th of the day)... and Cortez scoring on an arrant throw to first by the A's Short Stop. E. Gossage got the relief call in the 6th after Vandas pitched out of a tuff 5th with the bases loaded, not giving up any runs. The Brewers scored again in the 6th when Behan lead off with a single... stole 2nd and went for 3rd on a Vaughn groundout to short, leading to an wild trow to third by the first baseman scoring Behan. The final run came across in the 7th with a 2 out double by Vandas... who scored on a single to right by Cortez who was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. Getting the long save, E. Gossage finished the game for Vandas on the mound going 4 innings completing the shutout allowing only 2 hits giving the Brewres the 4-0 win improving their record to 6-0 on the season.
