The Brewers went into Sunday looking to continue their winning way against the Yankees. The game started off on an unfamiliar note for the Brewers when McCann gave up a rare first inning walk then a 2 run Home Run by the Yankees Grant. The first runs McCann has given up all year, raising his season ERA to a blistering 0.41 through 29 innings. McCann finished the first inning with another strike out, but due to major sourness in his pitching arm, his day was cut short to just 1 inning pitched. The Brewers answered in the bottom half of the first scoring 3 runs with the first 4 batters reaching base with both J. Vaughn and Goldberg hitting doubles. McCann handed the ball off to Gossage in the the second and he began to shut the Yankee bats down giving up no runs and only one hit over the next 2 innings. Over that time the Brewers bats woke up scoring 10 runs and batting around in the 3rd. Durring those 2 innings F. Vaughn, Goldberg and McCann all hit doubles and Goldberg and Gossage each hit Home Runs... Gossages being a Grand Slam. In the 4th, Jobe took over on the mound and baffled the Yankees batters for the next 4 innings giving up no runs, striking out 7 and only allowing 2 balls to leave the infield picking up his 3rd win of the season tying him for the team lead. Over the next 3 inning the Brewers continued to hit the ball hard scoring 4 more, even though they didn't score any runs in the 5 after loading the bases. Gossage added a double to his great day at the plate, Goldberg hit his 3rd double and J. Vaughn collected his 4th hit of the day... Final score, Brewers 17 - Yankees 2
