In game 2 of the Brewers Mothers Day double header the Brewers once again took on the defending champion Pueblo Demons who were looking to avenge the loss the Brewers handed them earlier in the year. This game was a true pitching duel, pitting the Demons Weins against the Brewers McCann... 2 hard throwing lefties that wouldn't back down. In the first, McCann pitch out of a jam stranding runners at 2nd and 3rd after an error and a double.... Mcann then went on to strike out the next 6 batters he faced in the 2nd and 3rd. The Brewers looked like they would put up some runs early in the game with a leadoff singe by Goldberg in the 2nd followed by a sac bunt from J. Vaughn and a singe from Nuss... setting up the Brewers with 1st and 3rd and only one out. But the Demons ace didn't back down striking out the next two batter. The Brewers then went down 1,2,3 over the next 5 innings. After a tight first, McCann mowed through the Demons lineup until the 6th. After striking out the first batter in the inning, pitch hitter Agutar crushed a triple to the gap... leaving a running at 3rd with only 1 out. McCann went on to strike out the next batter, but then hit Martinez the batter after that, bringing up 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. Martinez then tried to steal second, but Goldberg threw him out from behind the plat. Things for McCann got tuff again in the 8th when the Demons loaded the bases with no-one out after a leadoff strike out that almost hit the batter got passed Goldberg, a hit batter and a single. McCann then K'd another batter, got the next to pop up to shallow right and the next to weakly ground to Nuss at 3rd, preserving the shutout. The Brewers in the bottom of the 8th finally got things going when A. Behan led off the inning getting hit by the pitch and F. Vaughn hitting a single. Goldberg then poped to right, but it wasn't deep enough to move the runners over. But Behan and F. Vaughn took matters into their own hands while J. Vaughn was at the plate, executing the double seal taking 3rd and 2nd. J. Vaung then made things happen by hitting it to the short stop scoring Behan... J. Vaughn was also safe at first, because the short stops throw pulled the first baseman off the bag. The Brewers couldn't get any more runs across even though they ended up loading the bases. In the 9th, it took McCann 4 batters to get 3 outs including his 17th strike out of the game clinching the 1-0 win for the Brewers. This increased McCann's scoreless inning streak to 29 innings and his league strike out lead to 52.
