Brewers Win Back to Back Southern Colorado NABA Championships
The Brewers won the Southern Colorado 2010 NABA Championship after sweeping the Athletics at Sky Sox Stadium 5-3 in game 1 and 11-4 in game 2. The Brewers had to win both games after dropping game 1 of the best of 3 series a week earlier. The 2 wins were total team efforts with great performances by several players on the team making it impossible to pick a Player of the Week. Standouts on the day were Moran who got his 7th win of the year in game 1 pitching 8 strong innings striking out 10 giving up 4 hits and only 2 earned runs / at the plate Moran had 2 hits including a huge 2 RBI double in game 2. Meals came into game 1 to get the save pitching a perfect 9th collecting his 3rd save of the season topping out at 94 MPH on the stadium radar gun. At the plate Meals was also on fire having 4 hits on the day with 6 RBI's. Wirt went complete game in game 2 scattering 6 hits and giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 7. Other standouts were Behan who was on base 4 times and had 3 stolen bases, Goldberg had 2 hits and 4 runs scored, O'Brian was on base 6 times with 5 runs scored and a stolen base, Dryer had 3 hits with a huge triple, 3 runs and 4 RBI's, Peters was on base 3 times and had a big 2 RBI single and F. Vaughn was on base 3 times with a run and 2 stolen bases.
NO WORLD SERIES FOR BREWERS
Due to a combination of factors, the Brewers will not be taking a team to Phoenix this year for the 2010 NABA World Series. Some of the plays will more than likely be picked up by other teams travailing to Arizona and we will post updates on how this go's for each of them.
